Cope Foundation held an event to thank all of its supporters and partners.

The event happened in the Cork Vision Centre @ St. Peter's.
|
|
Everyone gathered to celebrate all the great achievements over the past year.
|
|
The event went on for two hours and was open to all.
|
|
There were examples of art, horticulture, woodwork, communication and crafts.
|
|
There were performances from St. Paul’s School Lámh Choir, the John Bermingham Singers, Hollyhill’s dance group and a performance from Karl Murphy and Lucia O’Neill.
|
|
Karl and Lucia sang together for Ireland in the European Song Festival in Stockholm earlier in 2014.
|
|
Self advocates gave speeches on the work they have been doing on speaking up for themselves and for others.
|
|
Cllr. Claire Cullinane was the MC and music was provided by Gerry Creedon.
|
|
Lord Mayor Cllr. Mary Shields attended the event.
|
|
Chairman of Cope Foundation, Anthony Dinan, commended his colleagues in Cope Foundation for their dedication to supporting people of every ability to live life to the full.

Noreen O’ Driscoll, a self advocate and Lady Mayoress of Cope Foundation said: “I am very proud to represent Cope Foundation, I have been supported in Cope Foundation since I was 12, I wouldn’t be here without Cope Foundation, it gives me a reason to get up in the morning. I feel safe and valued and my voice is listened to.”

Noreen thanked the various supporters of Cope Foundation. “There are so many people all over Cork city and county that help us to do great things, thank you to you all and thank you the 2,350 people supported by Cope Foundation, you make Cope Foundation what it is by living your ordinary lives. Cope Foundation is really about people and we are all the same, together we can do great things”.
