For the last few weeks almost 800 people across Cork city, county and beyond have eagerly clocked up more than 10,000 steps a day as part of the organisation’s fundraising challenge to reach 300,000 steps in February.
We are now on the home stretch of the campaign and we are looking to crown our top fundraisers.
This year’s top three fundraisers will receive an exclusive #StepsForChange plaque in recognition of their incredible work. Thank you to everyone who is taking part in the Challenge or who has taken the time to sponsor our teams and individuals.
Former staff member of Cope Foundation Mary Fullam has raised over €1,000, she says, "This is my second year in a row taking part in Cope Foundation’s 300,000 Steps Challenge. I enjoy getting out and about and reaching my step target every day! It is such a good way to stay fit and healthy, all while raising funds for this incredible organisation."
Micheál Ó Mulláin, Partner at O’Flynn Exhams Solicitors and his team are currently placed third on the leaderboard. He says, "The team at O’Flynn Exhams Solicitors are delighted to be taking part in this year’s 300,000 Steps Challenge in aid of Cope Foundation. So far, we have collectively reached over 560,000 steps! It has been such a great way to get some fresh air and exercise during the day as well as raise funds for a great cause.”
We are thrilled to see so many people we support and staff get involved this year, including Cope Foundation’s Human Resources Department ‘H.R Hopefuls’ who have raised almost €500.
You can support our fundraisers by heading to our Just Giving page or our Facebook page. The top three fundraisers will be announced on Wednesday 16th March. Good luck to everyone! #StepsForChange
